Will Smith, Russ and Jaden overcome adversity on their new collaboration, “Work Of Art”, which is premiered with its music video.
From inside an art gallery, Will and Russ chop it up before segueing into the striking performance. Jaden lays down the hook, while his pops takes it from there.
“I am the paint, and I’m the brush, and I’m the canvas / I am a saint, but if you touch, I am a savage,” raps Will in reference to his infamous Oscars slap. He later continues, “I’m a king, no denying this / Every limit I’m defying it/ Everybody want to be a lion, until it’s time to do lying / I’ma lead, till I die / Follow me to the peace / Through the fire, in my dreams,” before Russ follows suit.
Being a public figure is constant immersion therapy / Make sure that when you stare at me, every flaw is highlighted/ See yourself when you see me / Instead of acting like you got blindsided by the fact that I’m human / The good, the bad, and the ugly / Just know that you’re looking right into a mirror when you judge me.”
“Work Of Art” follows Russ’ recent single “Win“. It also arrives on the heels of Will Smith’s blockbuster film, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die and his latest single, “You Can Make It” featuring Fridayy and Sunday Service.
