Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe has announced a new book titled Just Beyond the Light: Living with the War Inside My Head. It’s set to arrive February 18th, 2025, via Hachette Book Group.
It’s the second book from Blythe following 2015’s Dark Days: A Memoir, which recounted the singer’s imprisonment for alleged manslaughter in the Czech Republic and subsequent acquittal.
The follow-up, Just Beyond the Light, will focus on different aspects of Blythe’s life throughout the years, with the publisher describing the book as “a riveting and revelatory memoir about self-development and maintaining proper prospective through difficult times.” In his own words, Blythe called it a “tight, concise roadmap of how I have attempted to maintain what I believe to be a proper perspective in life, even during difficult times.”

The singer opened up about the upcoming memoir in a recent interview with RVA magazine.
“It is about trying to maintain a balanced perspective in the world right now, and in order for me to do that, I have to look to other people I admire,” Blythe said. “One of those people I write about is my grandmother, who was 94. I was beside her when she died, and I was grateful for that because it was post-COVID. I interviewed her over the course of two days and learned about her life. I asked her what the biggest difference is between [her generation] the modern age we’re in right now — she didn’t say computers or globalism; she said people are not as close as they used to be.”
News of the book release comes amidst Lamb of God’s co-headlining tour with Mastodon. The trek continues Tuesday (July 30th) in Pittsburgh (get tickets here).
