Neil Young Announces Archives Vol. III (1976-1987) Box Set

The 22-disc bonanza includes more than 100 unreleased recordings, 11 films, and more

Neil Young has announced Neil Young Archives Vol. III (1976-1987), the latest in his long-running series of archival releases. The new set compiles 198 songs across 17 CDs and five Blu-rays, including 11 films, four unreleased. Of the bounty of rare songs, 15 are unreleased compositions and 121 are unreleased versions, with 62 having been recycled from other recordings. The box, out September 6, also comes with a 176-page book and a poster. A separate double-LP called Takes, compiling one track apiece from 16 of the Archives Vol. III discs, will comes out the same day.

Young announced this week that he would return to the stage in September after canceling dates due to illness. He will play at Farm Aid 2024 alongside Willie Nelson.
