The Osbournes Kinda Sorta Offer a Backhanded Apology to Britney Spears

You ever have someone go to apologize for something they said or did but when they began talking, you realized they weren’t really apologizing? Like it was an apology but a half-hearted one? That’s kinda the vibe that came off of the recent episode of The Osbournes podcast when the Osbourne clan decided to open their show with a not-so-great mea culpa.

You may recall that earlier this month the “Prince of Darkness” and his ilk got in a bit of a beef with troubled pop star Britney Spears when the family criticized her posting dance routines on her social media pages. Which is still a batshit sentence to type out in 2024…

At the time, the Ozzy complained that he was “fed up seeing poor old Britney Spears on YouTube.” That comment sparked a firestorm of criticism and apparent concern for Spears, who’s been in the spotlight for a while now fighting a conservatorship her parents had her under for years and years.

After their comments made the rounds online, Spears commented directly in a post to her 42.4 million followers in which she basically said she can do whatever she wants on her page and that critics can kiss her ass. Then she took shots directly at the Osbournes, stating:

“Tell the Osbourne family who is the most boring family known to mankind to kingly fuck off!!!”

As expected, the family then took time out of their latest podcast to apologize, but barely.

“Britney, I really owe you an apology. I’m so sorry for making that comment. However, it would be better if you didn’t do the same fucking dance every day. Change a few movements…”

Dance suggestions coming from a dude that can barely stand is kinda rich, if I’m being honest. As for the rest of the family, they all had something to say. Both Kelly and Sharon expressed their admiration for Spears, which prompted Ozzy to once again criticize the pop star’s posts, saying he loved her but that it was “the same dance every day!”

After Kelly joked about the dances sometimes having knives, Ozzy offered one final apology.

“I really do apologize. I love you and I think you’re beautiful.”

So there you have it. An attempt at burying the hatchet and hopefully letting it go like water under the bridge.
