Jack White has announced the official release of his highly-anticipated solo album ‘No Name’. Check out the artwork and tracklist below.
Announced today (July 31), the new project will mark the sixth solo album from the former White Stripes frontman, and is set to arrive on Friday (August 2).
The official details of the project come following the singer, songwriter and guitarist teasing the LP by slipping copies of it into the bags of customers at Third Man Records earlier this month.
At the time, the record sleeve carried no information about its contents, simply reading ‘No Name’ on the label. Rolling Stone reported that White’s publicist said he was “as surprised as everyone else” about the release, and Detroit radio station WDET 101.9FM helped tease the project by playing the record in full on air.
Building up to today’s announcement, White debuted a number of songs from the upcoming release at an intimate show in Nashville on Saturday (July 27).
Now, he has shared the album artwork and full tracklist for ‘No Name’, and confirmed that a blue indie vinyl edition will be available in Third Man Records retail stores tomorrow (August 1), with the remainder of formats coming the following day.

White has released five solo albums to date, including the most recent double hit in 2022 of ‘Fear of the Dawn’ and ‘Entering Heaven Alive’ in 2022. In a four-star review of the latter, NME wrote: “There’s a temptation with White to believe that he can only be one thing at once: stray too far into the unknown and his work risks being called divisive and abrasive, but re-treading old glories would be admitting defeat.”
“What has made the release of these twin records so satisfying, though, is his ability to cater for all, but on his own terms. This is a creative period, one suspects, that both fans and White alike will look back on as one of his most complete and satisfying yet.”
