Squid Game Season 2 to Premiere in December, Conclude with Season 3

Netflix has confirmed details of Season 2 of Squid Game, revealing that new episodes of the South Korean survival series will premiere on December 26th, 2024. What’s more, Netflix has announced that a third season of Squid Game — which will also mark the series’ final season — will air in 2025.

Along with revealing Season 2’s premiere date, Netflix shared a teaser trailer (watch below) and detailed plot synopsis: “Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 (Lee Jung-jae) remains determined to find the people behind the game and put an end to their vicious sport. Using this fortune to fund his search, Gi-hun starts with the most obvious of places: look for the man in a sharp suit playing ddakji in the subway. But when his efforts finally yield results, the path toward taking down the organization proves to be deadlier than he imagined: to end the game, he needs to re-enter it.”

Returning for Season 2 of Squid Game are director Hwang Dong-hyuk and cast members Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo.

Netflix is also currently casting Season 2 of its Squid Game reality show, Squid Game: The Challenge.
