Lesile Jones and The Life and Music of George Michael part of 2024 Fall lineup at Kimmel Cultural Campus

Acclaimed Comedian Leslie Jones and the Life and Music of George Michael are just two of the exciting new shows set to hit Philadelphia’s Kimmel Cultural Campus program lineup this September 2024 presented by Ensemble Arts Philly.

Kimmel Cultural Campus launches with Fran Lebowitz, Leslie Jones: LIVE, and Hannah Gadsby: WOOF! Embark on a journey back in time with The Life & Music of George Michael. And the new season of Broadway kicks-off with the acclaimed classic, Les Miserables.

Leslie Jones was honored as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People and is a highly acclaimed comedian, a Writer’s Guild Award winner, and an NAACP Award nominee for her work on Saturday Night Live.

Jones began doing standup comedy in college when a friend signed her up for a “Funniest Person on Campus” contest. After winning the contest, Jones left school for Los Angeles, performing at comedy clubs while working day jobs. From 2014 to 2019, jones became a writer and cast member for Saturday Night Live, known for her hilarious

George Michael was one of the biggest international Stars, singers, songwriters, philanthropists, and one of the best-selling musicians.  The Life and Music of George Michael celebrates the performance and sound of his music. The show will have fans on their feet dancing and singing along to blockbuster hits including “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” “Freedom,” “Faith,” “Careless Whisper,” Father Figure,” and many more.

Michael sold over 115 million albums spanning four decades and rose to fame as a member of Wham! in the early 80s. He went solo in 1987 with Faith, one of the biggest albums of all time. The album had four number-one hits including “Faith,” “Monkey,”“Father Figure,” and “One More Try.” He won two Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, three American Music Awards, and four MTV Video Music Awards.
