So I gotta be honest with you folks. When I first heard that Marilyn Manson dropped his new track “As Sick As The Secrets Within”, I immediately imagined a scenario where we were going to get a defiant, fire and brimstone, scorched earth song for his return. Having grown up during the Antichrist Superstar era and personally enjoying the shit out of Holywood, I guess I wanted to delude myself into thinking this was going to be a banger.
But here we are, hours later and I honestly couldn’t tell you what the hook was for this song. There’s nothing memorable in my eyes and it’s just… sounds and tempos arranged in such a way that I guess you could categorize it as a song.
Now, without priming the pump here, I want to know what you guys think. It’s been a while since we got new Manson and it’s the first new piece since he got slammed with all of those lawsuits and allegations.
