VMAs 2024 Confirm Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter as Performers

The VMAs have confirmed the first round of live performers for its 2024 awards show, with the star-studded lineup including Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro.

The event is scheduled to be hosted at New York’s UBS Arena on Wednesday, September 11th. Taylor Swift leads the nominations with ten counts to her name, followed closely by Post Malone, who is up for nine awards. Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, and Eminem each earned six nods. The window is now open for people to chime in on the fan-voted results.

It’s been an enormous year for Chappell Roan, who is in the midst of a breakout moment involving potentially record-breaking numbers at Lollapalooza, more lauded festival sets, and the release of one of our favorite songs of the year so far.

Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter has more than successfully shed her Disney roots and stepped into full-fledged pop star mode, notching a No. 1 with her playful single, “Please Please Please” while she continues to ride the viral success of “Espresso.” By the time she takes the stage for her VMAs performance, her forthcoming album (appropriately titled Short ‘n Sweet) will be here.
