Charity Auction Lets You Pay for a Dinner with James Hetfield

A nationally recognized sports charity is offering one hell of a unique opportunity to at least one lucky winner and three additional guests, as they’ve put up the chance to have dinner with Metallica frontman James Hetfield. And the bidding is already nearly at $30,000 with just 21 bids entered.

Organized by the Adaptive Sports Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity that helps make athletics and outdoor activities available for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities and chronic illnesses, the auction is just one of two auctions currently up for bid. In comparison, the other option is a lunch with singer-songwriter and pianist Bruce Hornsby, has only raised $544 through five bids.

According to the auction page, the dinner will take place in Edwards, Colorado, which is pretty close to Hetfield’s home in nearby Vail. The rules also stipulate that the date of the dinner will have to be scheduled within three months of the end of the auction and it must take place within a year.

Oh, and if you win, you have to pay for the entire meal. Because apparently someone as insanely wealthy as James fucking Hetfield shouldn’t be expected to pick up the tab for a charity dinner

If you really want to take a crack at potentially breaking bread with a dude that’s both helped millions of metalheads break their necks and is starring in a Western thriller, then head over to the Charitybuzz page and get your bid in. The auction ends on August 21.
