Weekend Reader Poll: Is There a Place for A.I. in Metal?

Over the last year or so, we’ve seen numerous headlines pop up of “X Band Says Y About A.I.” Sometimes it’s them using the technology for a creepy looking music video, other times it’s used for artwork, and in some small cases over on YouTube, it’s used for actual music. From Deicide talking about their album art to Phil Demmel saying it’s “kind of cheating,” there’s plenty of perspectives on both sides of the coin.

Yet every time we write about this sort of thing, the readers (you guys) get pretty pissed about the subject. And while this site’s stance is that A.I. sucks when it takes jobs away from the people that need them, we figured we’d test the waters for real this time and find out what you think.

So this weekend, we’re asking you to cast your vote on the matter. As such, you’re going to tell us if you think the A.I. in metal is good, if it sucks, or if you think there’s a little grey area in there.

So let us know in the comments below if you want to elaborate on your choice and vote. You have until Monday morning at 9 a.m. EST to get your vote in.
