Coco Jones Releases New Single ‘Sweep It Up’

Coco Jones has another potential hit on her hands. The Grammy-winning singer has released her new single “Sweep It Up,” which she co-wrote with Leon Thomas and Bizzy Crook.

“Sweep It Up” is another satisfying tune that effortlessly changes pace and tempo to keep listeners engaged before Jones’ impending debut album.

On the tantalizing track, with a hooky old-sound sound, Jones puts her immature partner on notice to smarten up in time before she seeks comfort in the arms of another man.

“Shoulda been my baby, what’s the holdup? / Just tell me when you’re going to grow up,” Jones sings.

London on Da Track, Ray Keys, Jeremy “J Dot” Jones and Cash Money AP were responsible for producing “Sweep it Up.”

Speaking on her new single, Jones says, “I am so excited to give the world an uptempo R&B bop… I’ve been waiting on this for a while.”

“Sweep It Up” follows Jones’ rapidly ascending single, “Here We Go (Uh Oh),” which samples R&B icon Lenny Williams. It was produced by Cardiak and Wu10 and released in May.

“I think the music inspired the song concept because I feel like with the sample, it feels like this orchestra and like a mystery,” Jones exclusively explained to Rated R&B about the song’s inspiration.

She continued, “[It’s] like this mission is happening like 007 or something. I was like, ‘What could be the mission here?’ And the mission, I feel like, is to be free from this person that constantly comes back in — to get over that hurdle.”

“Here We Go (Uh Oh)” continues going strong, currently sitting at No. 10 on urban radio and No. 16 at R&B radio. Additionally, it is trending at No. 17 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

Both of Jones’ aforementioned songs will appear on her upcoming debut album, which will be released on High Standardz/Def Jam Recordings.

The untitled project will follow her debut EP, What I Didn’t Tell You, which was released in 2022 and later reissued as a deluxe edition in early 2023.

What I Didn’t Tell You (Deluxe) was nominated for Best R&B Album at the 66th Grammy Awards

Early in August, Jones collaborated with Disney to release a remake of “Almost There” as part of their reimagining of Princess songs.

In other news, Jones recently achieved her first platinum award with “ICU.”

The Grammy-winning track, which boosted What I Didn’t Tell You, has sold over one million equivalent units. Camper produced the hit single.
