“Rockforte” by Christina Gaudet

Rockforte, by Christina Gaudet, is an album that lives up to its Grammy considerations for best rock song, rock performance, record of the year and song of the year categories. The album features eight vibrant songs with everything from Pop Rock to R&B and other genres making it Americana driven music, which Gaudet is already well known for. Each song is not only a journey but a compelling statement of some kind about love and togetherness, spreading the good word in a world gone overboard on the senses. Rock is the forte in which the album and title song are centered around.

If the title track didn’t come first, it would be misplaced, so “Rockforte” opens the disc and it doesn’t get out of the way so fast, as this is an undeniably awesome song in every way, so it sticks to the ears and takes every second the long way as it starts the album with a blazing star of an effort showcasing Gaudet’s powerful voice with excellent guitar and drums. This isn’t classic rock, but it is traditional, it’s just modern and crafted for current listeners as well as any rockers would reach for all it’s worth without hesitation.

“Fire In The Belly’ appropriately follows with another up-tempo rock track with only a slightly lower pace to it, as this one is more of a shuffle made for partying with its danceable pop vibes, and this is another testament of Gaudet’s striking vocals to be heard throughout the Rockforte album. “Hot Lover” carries on in the same vein as the previous two tracks, with an outdoorsy vibe perfect for the summertime lovers, and this is where Gaudet gives it her all and delivers one of the album’s most enjoyable tracks with another five to go before it’s over.

Next up on the Rockforte album, is “Startrecking” which turns out to be one of the highlights of the disc, with a song that rivals the strength of the title track and keeps the tempo up and comes out an absolute winner. But a break in the tempo comes with “Heart Be A Healer” showcasing the power vocals of Gaudet on more of a ballad than a rocker, but a spectacular song to wrap your ears around. The album meets with contrast and helps entice for what’s around every corner to come, and the following track “Sterling” is a beautiful full-on piano ballad to go with it.

The experience of Gaudet shines through on Rockforte, and it led me back to some other releases, which include blues and other genres to make it even more interesting while delving into this singer’s work. “Skybridge” is another fine piece of music with some more of the best vocals on the disc, including some of the best lyrics. And the final track proves all “Possibilities” can be dwelled in for the best of things yet to come, and love is always possible no matter what, so this amazing eight track album goes out with an absolute banger with some cool guitar playing.
