Youth Code & King Yosef Unveil New Track, “Burner”

Industrial metal/hardcore outfit Youth Code and hip hop artist King Yosef have collaborated on an album, A Skeleton Key In The Doors Of Depression, due out on March 9. The album’s first single, “Burner,” arrived on Friday, January 29, along with a music video.

As the resident MS Mansion Youth Code superfan, I would like to start off by saying it feels great to hear Sara Taylor’s voice again. Youth Code’s last album, Commitment to Complications, came out in April of 2016… nearly five years ago! It was my favorite album of that year. It’s been too damn long.

Youth Code vocalist Sara Taylor explained to Revolver of the track:

“The video for ‘Burner’ puts into perspective the duality of our everyday personas dissected into light and shadow. The constant state of monotony and struggle can lead us to a breaking point within ourselves, and to a path where we might not realize that the actual problem needing to be addressed is us as humans instead of what surrounds us. Is it nature or nurture? What if we are simply being challenged by something we can’t actually see? This song’s lyrics and visuals are a testament of challenge, and we hope you enjoy them.”

Have a listen and a watch below. I’m excited for this one.
