52nd NAACP Image Awards Nominees Announced: R&B Edition

The nominations for the 52nd NAACP Image Awards are in. Beyoncé is the top finalist, netting seven nods, including two she shares with Megan Thee Stallion for their collaboration “Savage.” She makes up the rest for her stellar visual album Black is King

Ledisi earned five nominations for music taken from The Wild Card, which was considered one of the best R&B albums of 2020 by Rated R&B. Meanwhile, four-time nominees include H.E.R., Chloe x Halle, and Alicia Keys. 

Brandy’s comeback album b7 earned a nomination in the Outstanding Album category. The LP was named the best R&B album of 2020 by Rated R&B

Mary J. Blige (Power Book II: Ghost), Jamie Foxx (Soul), and Janelle Monáe (Antebellum) each earn a nod for their respective acting work. 

Winners will be announced simulcast live on Saturday, March 27th at 8 p.m. EST across ViacomCBS networks such as BET, BET Her, LOGO,  MTV, MTV2, and VH1. The awards will be making its CBS debut as well.
