Periphery Frontman Spencer Sotelo Releases Solo Track, “Stoopid Love”

Periphery frontman Spencer Sotelo has shared a new solo track, “Stoopid Love.”

The track finds Sotelo exploring a far poppier sound than Periphery fans may be accustomed to, with retro synth elements and pop vocals akin to his past work with Nik Mystery and Endur.

You can stream “Stoopid Love” below. Sotelo is teasing a full solo album for release later this year.

Periphery had a relatively quiet 2020, but guitarist Misha Mansoor found time to release 10 entire albums of early Periphery demos that he wrote alone, as well as a new 1.5 hour piece of original music. He also reunited with longtime friend and collaborator Tosin Abasi to work on a new Animals as Leaders album.
