Wolfgang Van Halen’s Mammoth WVH Announces Album Release Date, Debuts New Single

Mammoth WVH, the project led by Wolfgang Van Halen, have announced a June 11 release date via Explorer1 Music Group/EX1 Records for their self-titled debut.

Along with the announcement comes a new single, “You’re to Blame.” You can listen below.

Last fall, Mammoth WVH premiered the song “Distance” as a tribute to Wolfgang’s father, Eddie Van Halen, who died from cancer in October at the age of 65.

A small kerfuffle erupted between Steven Wilson and Wolfgang Van Halen last week when the Porcupine Tree founder was asked by an interviewer about his feelings on Eddie’s passing. Wilson stated that he wasn’t personally a fan of Eddie’s playing or the style he pioneered, which prompted Wolfgang to publicly express that Wilson’s words “bum[med] me out hard,” saying that Deadwing (2005) is “one of my favorite albums of all time.”

Wilson subsequently apologized to Wolfgang, saying that Eddie “was clearly an incredible innovator.”
