Jack Harlow makes his Tiny Desk debut.
The Louisville rapper showed another side of himself while performing a selection of songs off his debut album Thats What They All Say for NPR’s (Home) Concert series. Accompanied by his band and background singers, he kicked off his stripped-down set with “Rendezvous.”
Surrounded by bookshelves and vintage furniture, the 22-year-old MC showcased live instrumentation with a medley of “21C / Delta,” “Funny Seeing You Here,” and “Same Guy,” which he called “one of the most honest songs I’ve ever written.”
“It’s been a long time since I’ve had a chance to perform and I’ve never done it like this. This is special,” said Harlow.
For the finale, the Grammy-nominated rapper breathed new life into his breakout hit “WHATS POPPIN.”
Next up, Harlow is headed to “SNL.” He will perform on the March 27 episode with host Maya Rudolph.
