Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have formed an R&B duo called Silk Sonic. Today, they make their official debut with “Leave The Door Open.”
Produced by Mars and D’Mile, “Leave The Door Open” sounds like it was created during the height of the Motown era, from the doo-wap-tinged instrumentation to the yearning lyrics.
“I ain’t playin’ no games / Every word that I say is coming straight from the heart / So if you tryna lay in these arms / I’ma leave the door open,” Mars sings.
“Leave The Door Open” is the first single from SIlk Sonic’s upcoming project, An Evening with Silk Sonic, which is slated to arrive later this year. The album will include an intro track from the legendary Bootsy Collins, who was also the mastermind behind the naming of Mars’ and .Paak’s new duo.
