Bobby Shmurda Scores Major Payday for NBA All-Star Weekend

Bobby Shmurda is cashing in.

Less than two weeks after being released from prison, the Brooklyn rapper has lined up a series of lucrative gigs during NBA All-Star Weekend in Atlanta that should earn him a reported $300,000.

The festivities kick off tonight at Compound nightclub where he will host his “Welcome Home Party” with 50 Cent. According to TMZ, he’s getting paid a whopping $125,000 for his first post-prison event.

He has also signed on for other performances and hosting gigs, including one with Meek Mill, that will bring his total to $300,000 for just a few days’ work.

His GS9 associate Rowdy Rebel, who was released from prison in December, is also taking it to the bank. He reportedly scored a $59,000 payday for his Saturday show at Halo Lounge.

Shmurda was released from New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility on Feb. 23 after serving six years. Quavo hired a private jet to fly him home where he celebrated with family and friends at a welcome home party.

And he’s just getting started. The 26-year-old rapper remains laser-focused on getting more bags. “I’m going to get real rich on y’all,” he told GQ. “I’m going to make it legit, though. They want to see you ni**as back selling crack. You know what I mean? Going to jail and shit. And I’m going to make it legit now.”
