Alicia Keys Achieves Billboard Milestone With ‘So Done’

Alicia Keys continues to be in a league of her own. “So Done,” her liberating duet featuring Khalid, unseats Chris Brown and Young Thug’s “Go Crazy” from the No. 1 position on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart this week.

Counting all Keys’ entries (12), this accomplishment makes her the only artist with the most chart leaders.

Keys previously held a short-lived tie with the living legend Toni Braxton after her collaboration “Gotta Move On” with H.E.R. reigned on the same chart in February.

In 2001, Keys earned her first chart-topper on the Adult R&B Songs chart for her debut single “Fallin.” Her Grammy-winning debut album Songs in A Minor produced another number-one single (“A Woman’s Worth”) on this chart.

In 2004, Keys made Billboard Adult R&B Songs history as the only artist to have the most number-one singles in the same calendar year.

Those songs included “You Don’t Know My Name,” “If I Ain’t Got You,” and “Diary” featuring Tony! Toni! Tone!. The first two songs spent 10 weeks at the top, while the latter reigned at the peak for 12 weeks.

Another milestone for Keys on this chart came in January 2008 when her song “Like You’ll Never See Me Again” dethroned her song “No One” from the summit.

Elsewhere, “So Done,” which appears on her latest album ALICIA, is currently the most played song on R&B radio. The R&B number-one LP was crowned one of the best R&B albums of 2020 by Rated R&B

Up next for Keys is a still-untitled docuseries on YouTube. It is expected to premiere sometime later this year.
