From yellow to diamond, Cardi B’s hit “Bodak Yellow” is making money moves with a Diamond plaque.
On Tuesday (Mar. 9), the Recording Industry Association of America officially announced the rapper’s break out hit has moved over 10 million copies. Cardi becomes the first female rapper to achieve Diamond status with a single.
In addition, her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion “WAP” has recently reached 5x Platinum.
Cardi was presented the Diamond plaque during a dinner following her Grammy performance rehearsal. “I just want to say thank you guys so much because without you guys this wouldn’t have happened. This really made my day and really uplifted me for this crazy performance,” said Cardi.
Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” is the lead single off her 2017 debut Invasion Of Privacy. The song also charted at No. 1 on the Billboard 100 charts.
Cardi B now joins Lauryn Hill in the Diamond club after the latter became the first female rapper with a Diamond album (Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill)
