The Weeknd Collects New Platinum Certifications From RIAA

These days, The Weeknd has more than blinding lights blurring his vision. The international phenom has a handful of new platinum plaques from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to thank as well.

For starters, his current album After Hours has been certified double platinum with over two million equivalent units sold. This also is now the same for the album’s lead single, “Heartless.”

Additional songs from The Weeknd’s latest LP including “In Your Eyes,” “Save Your Tears,” and the title track have all reached platinum status.

Meanwhile, “Blinding Lights,” which spawned his fifth Billboard Hot 100 number-one single, has gone 7x platinum.

The Weeknd, who recently performed the Super Bowl LV halftime show, is set to embark on a world tour in 2022 to support his After Hours album.

The 104-date tour kicks off on January 14, 2022, at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. His last show of the year will be on November 16, 2022, at the O2 arena in London.

Also, last month, The Weeknd released a career-spanning album fittingly titled The Highlights. Stream it here.
