Mary Wilson’s Self-Titled Solo Album to Be Reissued as Expanded Edition

Motown/UMe will honor the legacy and wishes of founding Supremes member Mary Wilson with the release of Mary Wilson: Expanded Edition.

The album, which is set to arrive on April 16 via Motown/UMe, includes eight bonus tracks. It features rare mixes of her hit “Red Hot,” the unheard Gus Dudgeon sessions and the brand-new single “Why Can’t We All Get Along,” which was produced by Richard Davis and co-written by Angelo Bond.

Just two days before her death, an excited Wilson uploaded a video to her YouTube channel announcing the reissue.

“I finally decided how to work with Universal, and they are going to release new Mary Wilson recordings,” she said with a smile.

She continued, “Thank you Universal for chiming in with me and helping this come true. Hopefully, some of that will be out on my birthday, March 6th… I’ve got my fingers crossed.”

Wilson’s self-titled debut album was originally released in 1979. Her single “Red Hot” peaked at No. 95 on the Billboard R&B chart.
