Late last year, Meshuggah revealed plans for a fall 2021 tour after canceling all summer engagements for the year and said their next album was already mostly written, suggesting they’d have a new album ready to go by the time the tour comes around. Now, a new photo posted to the band’s social accounts depicting drummer Tomas Haake’s kit mic’ed up in a studio suggests they are on track to honor that timeline of a late 2021 release.
You can see the photo below. That’s all we know at the moment, but Meshuggah are typically quite secretive about their recording process. We’ll post an update as soon as we learn more.
Meshuggah’s last album, The Violent Sleep of Reason, came out in 2016.
