Open Mike Eagle has announced Run the Jewels’ El-P will feature on the new season of his podcast What Had Happened Was. The entire second season will focus on interviews between Eagle and El-P as they go through the rapper/producer’s storied career—from Company Flow to the founding of Definitive Jux to Run the Jewels and beyond. The season premiere episode airs next week on March 31.

“I was psyched to sit down with Mike Eagle and do what every artist likes to do most: talk endlessly about myself,” El-P said in a press release. “Hopefully my shattered, weed addled memory didn’t get too much in the way.”

The last season of What Had Happened Was, which aired in 2020, focused on the life and work of influential hip-hop DJ/producer Prince Paul. Last fall, Open Mike Eagle released his most recent album Anime, Trauma and Divorce.
