After 7 Returns With ‘Bittersweet’ New Single, Announces New Album ‘Unfinished Business’

After 7 is back. The Grammy-nominated trio (Kevon Edmonds, Keith Mitchell and new member Danny ‘SkyHigh’ McClain) has released their new single “Bittersweet.”

The catchy mid-tempo, penned by songwriting duo Shakespeare (Tradessa Willis and Trevon Trapper), explores the ups and downs of a relationship.

“I am fairly certain that if you live life long enough you will learn that you can’t have the sunshine without the rain,” Edmonds said in a statement.

“Bittersweet” is the first single from After 7’s upcoming fifth studio album, Unfinished Business, set to arrive on May 14 via SRG ILS Group/Rose Works.

Unfinished Business will follow After 7’s 2016 LP, Timeless, which featured vocals from Jason Edmonds, the son of founding member Melvin Edmonds, who died in 2019.

According to a press release, Unfinished Business will honor Melvin. It will include songwriting and production from Stokely, Damon Thomas, JCash, and Shakespeare.
