Trevor Jackson Shows Us ‘The Love Language’ on His Debut Album

Trevor Jackson is giving out gifts today, and it’s worth its price. After years of building up to this moment, the singer/actor has finally issued his debut album, The Love Language. The 14-song record is subsequent to his pair of Rough Drafts EPs.

Clocking-in at 38 minutes, there are no disappointments in The Love Language. Jackson pieces together songs that complement his refreshing presence in the R&B genre. He runs through his experiences with love, from being stuck in the friendzone (“Just Friends”) to being vindictive to gain someone’s attention (“Get to You”).

Jackson sees his girl as queen and applauds her greatness on “You’re Everything” while he insists the world is at her internet-breaking mercy on “Ride the Wave.”

In “Be Yourself,” Jackson picks a certain pretender apart for making herself available to everyone else besides him. He wants to save her from the world, but she is too hard-headed to realize that he’s only trying to be the man she deserves.

Jackson has said, “Love is the universal language of all things, and I hope this album gives people more confidence to understand their own love languages and how to communicate them. The power of this music will not only bring people together, but it’ll also bring people closer to themselves.”

The Love Language has production from Harvey Mason Jr., The Aristocrats, Ayo N Keyz, Gabriel Lambirth, and Breland, to name a few.

By the way, Jackson has secured a new film role. He will star in Hate To See You Go, focused on the story of an aging Chicago Blues musician who refuses to put the mic down. The Ben Tishler-directed picture also stars Morgan Freeman, Alfre Woodard, Common, and Bill Burr.
