Following a logo reveal and a ’70s-set teaser image in June 2019, Disney+ revealed the first footage of Loki during Super Bowl LIV. At just 30 seconds, the ad offered quick glimpses of WandaVision, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier and Loki.
Rounding out the final moments of the Super Bowl teaser, Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as the titular character. He can be seen wearing a jumpsuit branded with Time Variance Authority, the organization of the Time-Keepers who are in charge of the timelines in the Marvel universe, in turn offering the first snippet of what to expect in the new series.

The first trailer for Loki arrived months later in December 2020, picking up on the events of Avengers: Endgame. From the start, we see what happened after an imprisoned Loki grabbed the Tesseract from the Avengers and teleported away in the alternate timeline. Taken in as a prisoner yet again—this time by the TVA—we’re introduced to Owen Wilson’s character Mobius M. Mobius as well as a montage of highlights of the action-packed series.
Now, in the new full trailer, we get more dialogue and additional teases of the series’ plot. The trailer begins with Loki arriving at TVA with an agent played by Wunmi Mosaku (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Lovecraft Country) and bantering with Mobius before being sent to another pod that literally tracks his every word.

As the trailer progresses, we get more information on how Loki is expected to help fix what he did after picking up the Tesseract in Endgame. The new time-traveling trailer gives a glimpse of some of the alternate timelines and a better look at Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s character Judge Ravonna Lexus Renslayer. In the new trailer, Renslayer questions whether this current iteration of Loki—which fans will remember picks up on the timeline from 2012 following the tragic events of Infinity War—is capable.
Along with the aforementioned cast, Richard E. Grant and Sophia Di Martino are also set to star. The series will be directed by Kate Herron, and Michael Waldron is the head writer.

The upcoming six episodes will directly tie into Phase 4 and especially the events of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, which is currently set to debut March 25, 2022.
The wait for Loki is significantly less as it will premiere on its recently adjusted date of June 11, and the full trailer is available to watch below.

More on Loki
Rumors of a Loki-led series surfaced shortly after the release of Avengers: Infinity War in mid-2018. Disney Chairman Bob Iger confirmed the series was happening with Hiddleston the same day that the Disney+ name announced in November 2018. At the time, no other Marvel show was confirmed.
In June 2019, the first look at the series made its way online. Marvel head Kevin Feige had previously shared the series’ logo and concept art at an investor meeting a few months prior. The first image showed Loki walking by a movie theater with a marquee reading Jaws. With a focus on the 1975 film, at the time it suggested what would be later confirmed as a series with many time jumps through Loki’s life.

The following month, Marvel revealed its Phase 4 lineup at a San Diego Comic-Con panel, which included several of the Disney+ series. Hiddleston appeared at the big event where he was asked how he thought the show would affect his character’s development.
“You guys saw Avengers, right?” Hiddleston asks the crowd alluding to the alternate timeline revealed in Endgame. “So he’s still that guy, and just about the last thing that happened to him is he got Hulk-smashed. There’s a lot of psychological evolution that still has yet to happen. But I—Kevin has generously shown me what his plans are. I can’t tell you any of them, but it is one of the most exciting creative opportunities I think I’ve ever come across. This new territory, a new world, new challenges, and I cannot wait to get started.”

Originally, at the 2019 SDCC reveal, the phase was set to begin with Black Widow in May 2020. Amid other films, The Falcon And The Winter Solider followed in Fall 2020, and both WandaVision and Loki were set to debut in Spring 2021.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the timeline shifted significantly. Black Widow was delayed several times before landing on a July 9, 2021 release date. And as fans are aware of this year, WandaVision became the first MCU series on Disney+ on Jan. 15 followed by The Falcon And The Winter Solider on March 19. Loki is next with a premiere date of June 11.
