Megadeth Have an NFT Now, Too

A few weeks ago, most of us didn’t know what the heck NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are. Now it feels like it’s all anyone is talking about.

Megadeth are the second prominent metal artist to announce the impending sale of an NFT, after Slipknot’s M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan. ‘Deth’s is called Vic Rattlehead: Genesis and is, as far as I can tell, just a GIF of Vic’s head rotating 360° counter-clockwise while the Megadeth logo rotates 360° clockwise.

So naturally, as of this writing, the bid is up to almost $200.

Sigh.

You can view the NFT below… or… is it a copy of the NFT? I’m so unclear on how this works.

Assuming you think that GIF is worth hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, it’s on sale here. Bidding ends April 12. Happy hunting.

Megadeth’s follow-up to 2016’s Dystopia is tentatively scheduled for release later this year, although Ellefson recently said that the band may not put it out until after the pandemic.
