Sunni Colón needs just a little inspiration on his new single, “Provide.”
He explained the inspiration behind the soothing tune in a statement. “Influences from Africa and Brazil, along with my musical knowledge of the ’70s and ’80s, inspired my new single ‘Provide,’” said Colón.
“I worked through and arranged gliding horns and a bridge with a dazzling flute solo, that invokes early 70’s jazz-funk explorations, before ultimately devolving into an atonal piano outro.”
The talented multi-hyphenate also unveiled a video to support the track. Watch above. In the self-directed video, he takes advantage of a sun-lit flat, indulging in the simple pleasures of quality time with himself and his muse.
“Provide” is a great taste of what to expect from his upcoming self-produced EP this year. No word if the pair of 2020 singles (“Penny For Your Thoughts, Slip n Slide”) will make the tracklisting for the forthcoming project.
