My Chemical Romance are rescheduling their reunion tour dates for 2022. The highly anticipated run will mark the follow-up to the band’s return at The Shrine in Los Angeles in December 2019 following a clue-filled reunion announcement weeks prior on Halloween.

Originally set to play their next shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan in March 2020, like all bands with touring plans amid the coronavirus pandemic, MCR began postponing their dates to 2021. Now, to ensure fans can safely attend their shows, the band are shifting all U.S. and international dates planned for this year to 2022.

“We are deeply sad, but those emotions are only a fraction of the depth of feeling we have all experienced watching the suffering and loss of the past year,” My Chemical Romance say in a statement. “We just want to be as sure as we can be that everyone is safe. Refunds will be offered to anyone who wants them. We are sorry if this is disappointing, and we really can’t wait to see you in 2022.”

While all tickets will be honored at the rescheduled dates, fans who are unable to attend may obtain refunds at their point of purchase. However, select dates have a limited window for refund requests. For New Zealand ticket holders, all requests must be submitted by May 20, 2021. Fans with tickets to dates in North America must request a refund by May 16, 2021. All questions regarding refunds should be directed to your point of purchase.

For those still attending a gig in 2022, your current ticket determines your rescheduled show if a city has multiple dates.

Following the postponed Eden Sessions show that was originally going to kick off their delayed return this year, the band have also shifted the three U.K. stops in Milton Keynes from June 2021 to May 2022. June 17 is rescheduled to May 19, 2022; June 19 is rescheduled to May 21, 2022 and June 20 is rescheduled to May 22, 2022.

The band were also set to play Bonn, Germany in July 2021, and both dates are now moving to June 2022. July 6 ticket holders may attend the June 21, 2022 stop, and fans with tickets to the July 7 show can attend on June 22, 2022.

Originally announced as part of their first U.S. tour in nine years with Frank Iero-approved billboards welcoming them back, MCR’s postponed Newark, New Jersey shows are now moving from September 2021 to September 2022. Sept. 21 tickets will be accepted for Sept. 20, 2022, and Sept. 22 tickets will be taken at the Sept. 21, 2022 show.

And finally, after selling out their entire North American tour in under 6 hours and adding additional dates, the four-date stop at The Forum in Los Angeles will be accepted as follows: Oct. 11 ticketholders can attend the October 11, 2022 show, Oct. 12 the Oct. 12, 2022 show, Oct. 14 the October 14, 2022 show and Oct. 17 the Oct. 15, 2022 show.

More on My Chemical Romance

Over the past year, the band have opened up about their excitement to get back on stage again. In May 2020, Mikey Way discussed the band’s upcoming tour with Newsbeat amid the first wave of postponements.

“I know fans have been waiting a long time, but it’ll all still be here when this is all over,” the bassist says. “It’s easy for me to say we had a plan, but everyone had a plan, you know what I mean?”

“I’m trying to take myself out of a selfish place. Everyone I know was about to do something,” Way continues. “Whether you’re in a band, you’re a director, you work a retail job, you’re a gardener – you had a plan, and now it’s been disrupted.”

“Live music isn’t going anywhere, it’s just on pause for everybody,” he concludes. “I feel like people are waiting with bated breath. It’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I think there’s something really cool about that.”

More recently in February 2021, Iero joined At The Drive-In’s Jim Ward on Instagram Live where he also discussed the MCR’s upcoming plans.

“I can’t wait, man,” Iero tells Ward. “I really can’t. It’s such a weird experience to be like, ‘hey alright all of this stuff that we’ve been working towards and these well-made plans,’ and all of a sudden it’s like, ‘ah hurry up and wait.’ But it happens…The play is to make it seem like you didn’t put any work in, you didn’t prepare for anything like fucking James Dean. You just want to be cool without even trying.”
