Are You “Feel”-ing This New Song From Wolfgang Van Halen’s Mammoth WVH?

Mammoth WVH, the new project from former Van Halen bassist/forever Van Halen progeny Wolfgang Van Halen, have released a new song called “Feel.”

If you listened to Mammoth WVH’s previously released singles — “Distance,” “You’re to Blame,” “Think it Over,” and “Don’t Back Down” — you know what you’re in for here: extremely catchy, somewhat mid-’90s tinged hard rock that proves there is definitely something musical in the Van Halen DNA (don’t forget, Eddie and Alex Van Halen’s father was also an accomplished musician). Wolfgang wisely never attempts to compete with his father’s unfuckwithable shredding (there’s a guitar solo, but it’s brief and comparatively pared-down)… or style at all, really — Mammoth WVH’s name may be a tribute to Van Halen, who were originally called Mammoth, but they sound nothing alike. But Wolfgang clearly has his father’s skills for crafting hooks. If you say you can listen to this without tapping your foot, I say you’re lying.

Check out “Feel” via the below lyric video. All five of the songs released to date will be included on Mammoth WVH’s eponymous debut album, which comes out June 11. Pre-order it here.

After “Distance” rose to #1 on the radio rock charts last fall, Mammoth WVH were invited to perform the hit on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where they made their television debut.

Following widespread criticism of the Grammy Awards’ too-brief tribute to the late Eddie Van Halen earlier this month, Wolfgang revealed he was asked to perform “Eruption” on the broadcast to honor his father but declined.
