Red Fang Release New Song “Funeral Coach”

Red Fang have debuted “Funeral Coach,” the second single from their new album, Arrows. And I have to admit, when I first saw that song title, even though I of course know what a funeral coach is, I pictured some dude with a whistle, y’know, coaching a funeral.

As it turns out, that very same silly thought inspired the whole song! Explains singer/bassist Aaron Beam:

“I was driving around and I saw a hearse that said, ‘funeral coach services’ on the back. So the first thing that popped into my head was a dude with a headset and a clipboard going, ‘Alright, dudes—more tears! Five minutes in is when the tears are critical, or no one’s gonna believe that anyone cares that this person died.’”

Great minds…

ANYWAY, the song isn’t upbeat, but exactly, but it certainly ain’t funeral, either. I think it would make a fine soundtrack for trying to get people to mourn competitively.

Listen to “Funeral Coach” below. Arrows comes out June 4 on Relapse. Check out the title track here, and pre-order the album here.
