Trevor Jackson shows he can be a modern-day Eddie Murphy in the multi-character music video for “Your Everything.”
Co-directed by Jackson himself and Autrefish, the video opens with a woman and her man in an intense argument, and Jackson suiting up for a series of multiple characters.
After the argument reaches its peak, she leaves home, passing by Jackson as a mailman. Following their first interaction, she begins seeing Jackson literally everywhere. He reveals everything relevant to her in character form, including her grandmother. The video’s ending takes a major twist that you’ll have to watch the entire video to see what happened.
The song is lifted from Jackson’s debut album, The Love Language, which was released in March. The 14-track album included previously shared songs “Just Friends” and “Get To You.”
Jackson recently spoke with Rated R&B about The Love Language, breaking down several tracks. He also spoke about how therapy has helped him.
“Therapy helped me just with myself. I just started doing that this year. Just having someone to talk to is awesome. It gives you an unbiased ear to talk to. We have to stress that it doesn’t have to mean you have a particular issue. We are humans. We grow up and we start to internalize things. It’s just taking the time to hear yourself. We’re also caught up with everyday life that we sometimes forget about ourselves,” shared Jackson.
