Mereba Releases New EP ‘AZEB’

If a lighthouse were powered alone by sheer talent, Mereba and her new AZEB project would make things bright. The seven-track project she defined as a “sonic-time capsule” marks her first release since 2019’s The Jungle Is the Only Way Out

A winsome earworm like “My Moon” could have been shopped to a traditional pop vocalist for adult contemporary radio impact. Mereba’s sauntering tone sports this graceful ditty absorbed in moony lyrics about finding completeness in a love interest.

With the fight against racism and police brutality still in progress, “News Come,” particularly its reprising outro, is a faultless anthem to chant during future marches.

In addition to those standouts above, AZEB includes “Rider,” the project lead track. She issued the Sean Frank-directed visual last week.

What makes the release of AZEB more remarkable is it arrived on the birth of Mereba’s newborn son. She revealed the announcement in an ear-watering Instagram post.
