Polo G Arrested In Miami

Just 24 hours since the release of his album, Hall Of Fame, Polo G was arrested in Miami for assault on a police officer.

The Miami Herald reports the rapper was booked at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on several charges including battery on a police officer, resisting arrest with violence and criminal mischief.

According to police reports, the 22-year-old rapper and his 16-year-old brother were pulled over early Saturday (Jun.12) for a “traffic infraction”. When Polo G was cuffed, a physical altercation took place and the police officer was struck multiple times in the head, chin, forehead and cheek. After being detained, the rapper allegedly shouted “I will kill you, I swear I will use these fists to beat the shit out of you and knock your ass out.”

Polo G’, who was in town to celebrate his new album, received a bond of $19,500 on his five charges. In a video posted on Instagram, his mother commented on the arrest “My kids called me in a frenzy saying the police are behind them, 20 cars behind them,” she said, adding that “They refused to let me speak to my minor son, who is 16-years-old. They stopped them because they were driving while Black”.
