Between the Buried and Me Cancel Canadian Tour Dates, Add More U.S. Ones

I feel horrible for our Canadian friends. Despite the fact that life in Canada is, in many ways, often better than in the U.S., the country has had a real rough time with Covid-19. Not that the U.S. also hasn’t, but whereas the vaccination campaign here is going quite well, with 65% of adults over 18 having received at least one dose, Canada’s vaccination lag (only 16% fully vaxxed) has now hit ’em where it hurts even more: no live music. Still.

While many of the U.S. and so-called “North American” tours announced in recent weeks will avoid Canada entirely because of unclear travel restrictions, Between the Buried and Me ambitiously included Canada as part of their “evening with” 21st anniversary tour (initially their 20th anniversary in 2020). But it is not to be: the band just announced the Canadian dates are canceled, replaced with U.S. shows in smaller markets near the border.

Sorry, Canada, I truly feel bad. You need your dose of prog metal just as badly as a Covid-19 shot in the arm… I get it!

Between the Buried and Me will perform two sets: a greatest hits set and a full performance of their 2009 album, The Great Misdirect.
