Billie Eilish has dropped an eerie video for her new song, “NDA.”

The video, which the artist has been teasing for weeks via Instagram, features cars burning around her as she walks down a dark street.

The song begins with a scratching, distorted effect and launches into a creepy, minimalist beat, with Eilish singing “Did you think I’d show up in a limousine?” Throughout the video, images of silhouettes and approaching cars flash by as the singer makes her way down a dimly lit street. When the chorus picks up, the cars begin zipping around her, filling the scene with headlights and tire smoke. In this video, there are, in fact, 25 stunt drivers. Not only did Eilish direct the video herself, but she also recorded the entire performance in a single take.

The trance-like single is just the latest to be released off Eilish’s upcoming record, Happier Than Ever. Prior to “NDA,” the artist put out “Lost Cause” and “Your Power” earlier this year, while “my future” and “Therefore I Amcame out in 2020.

The debut of “my future” happened almost an entire year before the record’s release date was announced. Last year, the singer cryptically announced that her album will have 16 songs, two more than her Grammy-winning debut LP, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?

The artist has consistently stayed busy writing new material during COVID-19, yet Eilish has stated her intentions to not make the forthcoming album a quarantine album.

“It’s not like we’re making songs about quarantine. We’re just in a different mindset than we would be otherwise,” Eilish told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “And that’s just how everything is. It’s the butterfly effect. It’s like if you hadn’t done this three years ago, maybe you wouldn’t be doing this three years later. It’s just the way that it is. At the same time, this is the most time off I’ve ever had in my life, first of all. And especially since this all started like five years ago.”

Her brother FINNEAS, who produces most of Eilish’s songs, shared a similar sentiment.

“Billie’s album, and my album, they won’t be a bummer COVID record,” he told Herald Sun. “I have a desperate desire not to release them during COVID-19. It’s the vaccine record! I want it to be the album everyone’s out dancing in the streets to.”

Eilish’s sophomore record drops July 30 via Interscope Records. You can preorder it here.

Following the album’s release is the rapidly selling out Happier Than Ever world tour, which “NDA” will surely make a great addition to. Her 2020 Where Do We Go? tour was cut short by over 20 dates after the onset of COVID-19, so tickets for the upcoming tour are selling quickly. You can find dates below.
