Guns N’ Roses Release Pro-Shot Footage of Reunion with Drummer Steven Adler

Guns N’ Roses have released another entry in their Not in This Lifetime Selects video series, which highlights various performances from the band’s tour reuniting lead singer Axl Rose with fellow original members Slash (guitar) and Duff McKagan (bass).

The footage was captured during the band’s tour of Latin America in late 2016, and includes a performance of the song “My Michelle” with original GN’R drummer Steven Adler.

Songs performed in the 47-minute video are as follows (via The PRP):

  1. “Mr. Brownstone”
  2. “You Could Be Mine”
  3. “Better”
  4. Slash Extended Guitar Solo
  5. “Sweet Child O’ Mine”
  6. “My Michelle” (featuring Steven Adler)
  7. “There Was a Time”
  8. “Don’t Cry”

You can watch the video below.

Despite being very vocal about wanting to be involved in the Guns N’ Roses reunion, Adler was only invited to play a few songs at a handful of shows. In 2017, Enuff Z’Nuff vocalist/bassist Chip Z’Nuff — who also worked with Adler in the band Adler’s Appetite — said that Adler suffers from back pain, which meant “management had an excuse to kick him out.”

In June of 2019, Adler was rushed to the hospital after he accidentally stabbed himself.

Adler, who appears on the Guns N’ Roses releases Appetite for Destruction and GN’R Lies, was first replaced in the band by Matt Sorum (ex-The Cult) in 1990. For their most recent tour, Adler has been replaced by Frank Ferrer, who appears on GN’R’s 2008 album, Chinese Democracy.

The current line-up of Guns N’ Roses is rounded out by Richard Fortus (guitar), Dizzy Reed (keyboards), and Melissa Reese (keyboards/samples).

This past December, Slash said he hopes GN’R will finally release new music in 2021. That seems unlikely, but the band will tour the U.S. later this summer. Dates are as follows:
