Jamie Jones of All-4-One continues his solo path with the release of “Sunny,” a reimagined take on Bobby Hebb’s ’60s classic.
Co-produced by frequent collaborators Lamont Neuble and Tim Stewart, this remake’s instrumentation can’t hide Jones’ love for classic neo-soul. His smoothly appealing voice glides across this magnificent mix of blissed-out organ keys and guitar licks.
“I wanted to record something light that felt good. We’ve all been through so much in the last year, and I figured we could all use a little more sun in our lives,” Jones said.
Along with Jones’ rendition, he dropped off a supporting music video. Jones is smiling from ear to ear in the visual, walking down a boardwalk with his boombox on his shoulder. He teams up with a guitarist to let out this feel-good record.
“Sunny” is the first new song from Jones since his Christmas at Home with Jamie Jones project. Released in December 2020, the EP featured guest appearances from Pau and Marissa Lauren and incredible covers of holiday staples like “This Christmas” and “Someday at Christmas.”
