This year has pretty much been all BJ The Chicago Kid. The Chicago crooner maintains his active music status with the release of 4 AM, his new EP.
The four-track project, launched through his BJ Wednesdays series held this month, includes recent singles “Make You Feel Good” featuring Lucky Daye and “Type Of Day” with Eric Bellinger. He also covered The-Dream’s cult classic “Fancy.”
Aside from the previously released tracks, BJ tacks on an unheard track called “Love You Slow.” Backed by sensual, flamenco guitar licks, he sings about embracing a more passive approach in the bedroom with his lady, who likes things more gently.
“I am naturally a night owl and for creatives that stay up like me, 4 a.m. in the morning is like the magic hour where all your best ideas flow. These songs are without a doubt some of my strongest,” shared BJ in a statement about the title of his new project.
In June, BJ released a song called “The Chi.” It appeared in an episode of the Showtime series of the same name. In addition, he recorded a Sam Cooke tribute song with PJ Morton, Kenyon Dixon, and Charlie Bereal, as well as a song for the Judas and The Black Messiah soundtrack this year.
