Brent Faiyaz’s ‘Wasting Time’ Reaches Top 10 on Urban Radio

Brent Faiyaz’s Drake-assisted track “Wasting Time,” produced by The Neptunes, has entered the top 10 on urban radio at No. 8.

The mid-tempo groove, which has reached over 10.5 million listeners, is Faiyaz’s first top 10 entry on this format as a lead artist. He last appeared on this chart, as a featured artist, in 2017 on GoldLink’s Grammy-nominated song “Crew.”

Faiyaz, who collected a handful of gold plaques and a platinum award from the RIAA in June, is slowly building buzz for the follow-up to last year’s F**k the World EP.

Producer LosHendrix, a frequent collaborator of Faiyaz, spoke highly of him to Rated R&B earlier this year, particularly when asked about their creative connection.

“Brent and I have a process that’s different than most people I work with because we’ve been working together for so long,” he explained.

“It just has to be different than everything that’s out and that we did before, so it can take a bit longer, but when we find the sweet spot, it’s special.”

Faiyaz has kept his fans supplied with new music, including his ode to women “Show U Off” and the Tyler, The Creator-assisted “Gravity.”
