Saint Etienne Share New Single “Penlop”: Stream

UK trio Saint Etienne have shared “Penlop,” the latest single from their forthcoming album, I’ve Been Trying to Tell You.

“Penlop” follows the lead track “Pond House,” which served as our first taste of the indie dance outfit’s first LP in four years. Like the previous single, this new song comes accompanied by a music video taken from the album’s companion film by director/photographer Alasdair McLellan.

Speaking of the song in a press statement, Saint Etienne’s Bob Stanley said,

“‘Penlop’ is one of my favorite songs on the album. Sarah’s vocal makes me think of a travel guide, walking you around your half-remembered memories of the late nineties. Pete’s production on this is wonderful, I like the way it bursts wide open at the end, like someone breaking through from the past into the present day.”
