Ukrainian prog-metal outfit Jinjer are presenting fans with a new music video for “Wallflower.” The release comes just days ahead of the release of their fourth studio album, due Aug. 27.

The single marks the band’s third single from Wallflowers, following “Vortex” and “Mediator.” The band first made the announcement of the new track Aug. 22 on Twitter. The next day they shared the premiere link and told listeners to set a reminder.

With “Wallflower,” the band deliver hypnotic beats alongside visceral lyrics. Tatiana Shmayluk’s clean vocals are pierced with fierce growls and screams. Directed by Basil Pereverzev, the track’s accompanying cinematic video serves as a metaphor for inner demons and struggles.

Shmayluk previously spoke with Alternative Press about their new LP, Wallflowers, in issue 397 featuring cover stars Badflower and blackbear. The singer says that though therapeutic in the sense that their music may help others, sharing those deep emotions can still be a challenge.

“It was hard for me to write those personal lyrics because I have a tiny problem where it’s really hard for me to express my feelings, my thoughts and emotions. I was a little bit concerned about whether I should even do this,” Shmayluk shares. “I try to filter what I should and should not say. Sometimes I fail, but this time I say, ‘Hey, come on. I’m a musician. I’m an artist. I’m free and expressing myself, so I can do whatever I want unless it harms someone.’”

Wallflowers drops this Friday, Aug. 27 via Napalm Records. See the tracklist below. Jinjer head out on tour this fall with Suicide Silence and All Hail The Yeti. Dates are listed below, with tickets available for purchase here.
