Poppy has dropped her latest track and music video from her upcoming LP, Flux. With cheery progressions and cadences, “So Mean” gives listeners a new aesthetic from the genre-melding artist.
The AltPress cover star has had a busy year already and intends to finish it out even stronger. From her stunning Grammy performance in March and nomination for Best Metal Performance to her WWE collaboration with EAT, the singer is constantly in motion. Now, she has a North American tour planned for the fall.

Where her previous single “Flux” featured intense guitars and drums, “So Mean” boasts a lighthearted air and warm tones. Produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Deafheaven, St. Vincent), upbeat rhythms drive the singer through low vocalizations in each verse before she moves into a higher octave for the chorus. Directed by Poppy, the accompanying music video serves as a first look as to what fans can expect from her upcoming tour.
Poppy hits the road this fall in support of her upcoming album release. Tickets are available here, and dates are listed below. Flux drops Sept. 24 and is available to preorder via Sumerian Records.
