Turnstile are continuing to pave their own path with the release of GLOW ON, their first full-length in three years.

The digital cover stars of Alternative Press’ August issue, Turnstile collaborated with producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Eminem, twenty one pilots) on the highly anticipated album.

In a press release earlier this year, lead vocalist Brendan Yates discussed how the creation of the album was a learning experience in many ways.

“Working to figure out what you want from a song and how to capture it is always a huge learning experience,” Yates says. “A live show environment with others, I think, is the true essence of the band and music, but when recording an album, you’re given a lot of opportunity. You want to breathe as much imagination into it as possible.”

Yates, alongside lead guitarist Brady Ebert, bassist/vocalist Franz Lyons, rhythm guitarist Pat McCrory and drummer Daniel Fang, dove headfirst into new waters with GLOW ON. While staying true to their unique hardcore sound, the group also explored new stylistic and sonic territories.

They also joined forces with multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Blood Orange. “ALIEN LOVE CALL” was released earlier this summer and featured Blood Orange’s vocals. Fans can hear him again on “LONELY DEZIRES” as well as a few additional vocal contributions on “ENDLESS.”

GLOW ON also includes a few familiar songs that the band shared earlier this year on their TURNSTILE LOVE CONNECTION EP. “HOLIDAY,” “NO SURPRISE,” “MYSTERY” and “T.L.C. (TURNSTILE LOVE CONNECTION)” all appear on the new full-length. Previously released tracks “FLY AGAIN” and “BLACKOUT” are both on the album as well.

GLOW ON and TURNSTILE LOVE CONNECTION followed the group’s 2020 project SHARE A VIEW. This collaboration with Australian producer Mall Grab featured three reimagined Time & Space tracks: “Yes I Need My Generator,” “The Real Thing” and “I Wanna Be Blind.”

Turnstile begin their tour across the United States Aug. 28. Tickets are available here.
