Did Clutch write a song about a much-maligned guitar pedal? I can’t make out what Neil Fallon is singing in the below fan-filmed footage of the band performing a new song, “Boss Metal Zone,” but the title is surely no coincidence.
In case you’re wondering, a 2018 rig rundown of guitarist Tim Sult’s gear did not include the pedal in question. So let’s assume he doesn’t use it.
The title is likely either a working title or just a metaphor. For what? Guess we’ll need to wait for a lyric sheet to try and figure it out.
In the meantime, watch the footage below. “Boss Metal Zone” is the second new song Clutch have given a live debut this month, after “Strive for Excellence.”
