Lucky Daye has debuted the video for his new single “Over,” which co-stars Jordyn Woods.
Styled in a flowy white dress, the socialite opens the cinematic picture at no better place than a nearly vacant theatre. Her reason for being there is apparent: Daye. He’s backstage with his team, who are preparing him to be the key attraction when the curtain draws back.
As he fights through paparazzi and glides across the floor in multiple looks in a four-mirror scene, Daye slowly gets confused and thrown off track by Woods’ mere presence. You’ll have to watch the rest of the video to see who it plays out.
Daye, who recently scored a top 10 R&B single (“You Want My Love”) with idols Earth, Wind & Fire, dropped off “Over” as the official comeback single to his Painted follow-up. His next proper album is out sometime in 2022. He released the all-female duets EP Table For Two as a solid holdover earlier this year.
Daye’s collaboration game this year has been strong, joining forces with VanJess, BJ The Chicago Kid, Tiana Major9, Alex Isley, and others. He scored his first gold certification (“Roll Some Mo”) amid his many music link-ups.
