Eric Roberson has recruited an all-star cast of male R&B vocalists for the official remix to his new single “Lessons.”
Anthony Hamilton, Raheem DeVaughn, and Kevin Ross each have a turn at soulful prowess, conveying the challenges they broke through to find real love in their respective interests.
Roberson naturally gravitated towards these three R&B gents not only because they are on his list of favorite singers but because he wanted their sharp songwriting skills to be present.
“I’m honored to get their perspectives on the ups and downs of love and how it all leads us to where we are supposed to be,” he shared in a statement.
Ross deemed Roberson a “mastermind” for drafting him as well as Hamilton and DeVaughn. The Love King tipped his hat off to Ross, calling his performance a “breath of fresh air.”
Each crooner has their head down in their specific projects at the moment. Roberson is working on completing his 12th album, Lessons, which is set to arrive in January 2022 via Blue Erro Soul. His last full-length studio album, Here For Here, came out in spring 2020.
Hamilton released Love Is The New Black, his first album in five years. In an interview with Rated R&B, he discussed the LP’s recording process. He went into collaborating with Jennifer Hudson for it and joining Drake for his Certified Lover Boy record. He also teamed up with Leela James on “Complicated (Remix).”
Ross recently premiered a live performance of “Looking For Love” with Rated R&B. He’s currently on tour setting up the greater attention for his upcoming project Drive 2, due out October 29.
DeVaughn hopped on Keith Sweat’s new single “Can’t Nobody.” He also shared a remake to The Beatles’ “Let It Be” for an EP dedicated to them. Earlier this year, he debuted a collaborative album, Lovesick, with producer Apollo Brown.
